SEO Facts That Clients Don’t Usually Understand

Doing search engine optimization works and finishing it for a client’s website always has some hardships that go with it. The usual problem is that there are things that these clients don’t usually understand. It’s hard to explain some process to them especially on how things actually work. Here are some of the facts that clients don’t easily grasp. The point here is that as an SEO worker, you should be able to explain everything to them. Just make sure that they can easily understand it.

First, you just can’t simply “switch it on”.  A lot of clients often think of SEO as a switch button where you can just tap it to turn on or off if they want to. You very well know that this isn’t the case. SEO is a time consuming task and it takes time to implement and complete it especially if you are looking for a long term result. You just can’t push it forward at will. There are sites that you might think there’s nothing in it but the real thing is it probably has a running strategy in it.

Second point is that you can’t always be number one. Lots of clients also believe that by hiring SEO Services Company, they can immediately reach the top on Google’s rankings in a particular keyword. The thing they must realize is that they are not the only ones who are utilizing SEO companies and services. Therefore, there’s a need to fight for the particular position.

Third, there’s no single traffic source. While it’s true that Google is one of the most popular search engines, it does not necessarily mean that you others should be ignored. Yahoo and Bing are two giants that should be considered as well. They can also deliver traffic to you. You can also work on your links to get an increase in traffic.

Fourth point, Google isn’t your employee. No one can control Google, that’s the reality every client should understand. What they do with the results of their ranking isn’t for us to determine. They can change rules and algorithms in their own way and in their own time even if they don’t announce it to the world.

Fifth point, you can’t use SEO as cover up your website’s problems. If the main problem is in your client’s site, no amount of SEO works can improve this. Therefore, before going for SEO and get better search engine rankings, you should take a good look at your website and see if there are areas that need work to be done.

The last point is that one can’t just be an expert instantly. There are also clients who think they are already experts just because they have read a couple of SEO articles and they think they can tell you what your job is. The reality about SEO is that it’s a long term subject to learn and it also constantly changes. In fact, it’s a non-ending process.

Making the clients understand regarding SEO will stop them from trying to interfere with your works. Explain everything from the very beginning. Destroying myths regarding SEO will improve the work in a lot of ways.
